BackCountry Avalanche classes with Diamond Peaks Ski Patrol
This concise field refresher will help you dust off your trip planning and companion rescue skills during a 6-hour session, entirely in the field near Cameron Pass on your National Forest Land. Refresh your knowledge of reading forecasts, current snowpack conditions, field observations, and a lot of rescue skills.

Additional Backcountry Safety Courses

Avalanche Education on Comeron Pass with Diamond Peaks Ski Patrol
Diamond Peaks Ski Patrol offers a variety of National Ski Patrol courses. While these are required for our Patrollers, some are also open to the public.
National Ski Patrol Classes include:
  • Avalanche Courses 
  • Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) 
  • Mountain Travel & Rescue - Next class Spring 2026 (full)
  • Ski & Toboggan (OET)

​

​DPSP Patrollers are also required to maintain the following qualifications:
  • CPR For the Professional Rescuer
  • Incident Command System (ICS) courses 100 and 700
  • US Forest Service Good Host Training
